Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone

Without knowledge en overstanding of the 4 elements of HipHop, the elements become hobby's. Something you do on the side. There's no POWER behind it. The consciousness that causes this to exist …What is it that makes a person rap? Not the rap, that's an effect. What's the cause? What makes a person rap? This is the magical part of HipHop; the part that we don't really teach to everybody because not everybody is mature enough to understand it.

Let's talk about the soul, the inside, WHO ARE YOU?

Do you have the courage to be the real you?

So you wanna be an MC? ...Yeah I wanna be an MC.....Yeah... Oke who are you? Do you have the courage to be an mc? DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO BE AN MC???

KRS ONE: For me to be the real me...the real me...there are consequences to that, this is why nobody wants to be the real them, because to be the real you ...there’s consequences to that. For me to be the real me...the real me...I may go to jail tonight!!  And this ain't the real you. Your sitting here and your controlling your hands, your legs and mouth ...your just sitting here but this aint you. This is the performance you putting on to hear the lecture. But who are you?

To be the real you...there are consequences to that...and nobody wants the consequences. Question number one: Who are you really?

Now that is a question I asked my self a few days ago. Because I did something that I thought I would have never do. Here’s a thing…I do know who I am…at least …I think I know who I am, (most of us do). When people ask me about me and ask who I am I do not say: Well…my name is Duygu and I’m 23 years old and I’m from Holland…I say this: I am love, passion and enthusiasm…even in my bio I wrote: I am Passion, Love, Enthusiasm, Fun, Kind, Happy, Creative, Ambitious, Motivated, Decisive, Determined, Supportive, Loyal, Responsible, Dependable & Sexy! I start saying this almost 1 years ago, before that I just said: my name is Duygu and I’m…years old etc etc. But I decided that I was more then my name and my age!

But…. how can you know who you really are if you are growing each day and life takes you to places and situations that you’ve never been before, so who is the real you if life changes, and we as a person change and grow all the time…

I’m not creative all day and I’m not ambitious every hour and sometimes I feel hate and anger inside of me and not Love, I’m not fun all the time and sometimes I’m sad and not happy. And I’m definitely not always sexy! That makes me a human being! That’s who I am!!

I can accept the responsibility for the negative result of my action…I can be smart enough to not do some things because I know the result of that is going to be negative. What makes me the real me?

KRS inspired me yesterday, he did that also when I watched and listened to his lectures through Youtube  and when I listened to his music. He is a living legend and even though he’s a very smart en wise man who was there at the beginning of HipHop…I didn’t agree with everything he said yesterday. He talked about computers, internet and technology. He said internet took away the real contact between people and it makes us dumb. I think he means: it CAN take the real contact away between people and it CAN make us think less. I use my laptop because it helps me stay organized, and when I use the internet I search things up that I can learn from. Today I have more contact with my family in Turkey because of Facebook and Skype…years ago we had to make phonecalls and that was more expensive.  I have contact through mail with the people who read this blog and with ‘fans’ who like to listen to my music and who wants to see me perform. Internet can make you have better contact with others. It’s up to you to decide how to use it and how much time you want to spend on it. But I’m sure that was what KRS wanted us to think about. He spoke for like two hours and from the start till the end I was very impressed and touched because he is so real and he speaks from his heart and from his soul. I feel very lucky, because yesterday…KRS ONE at the Herman Brood Academy was a once in a lifetime experience!!!!

Oh and by the way: I’m happy to be a girl! I’m not a woman yet….I didn’t gave birth to a child, I’m not married and I’m only 23!! Still young and growing! I’m learning and growing…but I’m not a woman yet! Thank God!
